Welcome!

We’re Linden, Zach, and Hydra. When Hydra (who picked this as a social media nickname) was born, Zach and I realized that we had more gaps in our skill base than we initially thought. Neither of us could cook more than the absolute basics (and not well), and we had no idea how to run a household. Since then, we’ve taught ourselves (and taken advantage of the wealth of knowledge in friends and family) how to cook, bake, garden, live more sustainably, and pick up a collection of hobbies to help us achieve the goals that we have.

We strive for perfectly imperfect, and we’re definitely crushing the imperfection side. Look no further than this picture.. our first time getting professional shots in years and Hydra was pushing through being stung by a hornet 🙈

There will be no judgment of whether you fit the ideal homesteader checklist here. If you’re looking to find balance, try new things, and fail forward until you get it right, you’ve come to the right place.

Currently, we’re living on 30+ acres in Ontario with our two dogs and three cats. We’re looking to add some productive animals soon, but we’ve been canning and gardening up a storm!
